Two new Salik toll gates open to Dubai
Motorists in Dubai will now incur toll charges at two additional locations, following the activation of new Salik gates starting today.
The new gates are situated at Business Bay Crossing on Al Khail Road and Al Safa South on Sheikh Zayed Road. These additions increase the total number of Salik toll gates in the city from eight to ten.
Salik had previously announced that these gates would become operational from November 24, marking a continued effort to streamline traffic and manage congestion across Dubai.
What This Means for Motorists
- Toll Charges: The standard Salik toll charge of AED 4 will apply each time a vehicle passes through these gates, similar to the existing system.
- Impact on Daily Commutes: Commuters who frequently use these routes may need to factor in additional toll expenses or consider alternative roads to avoid extra charges.
- Car Rental in Dubai: If you’re driving a rental car, ensure the company includes Salik costs in your rental agreement to avoid surprises later.
